The sun arrives when rain leaves
Yet I miss it
The gentle patter of a loved one
Echoing through the ocean
Of puddles and mud;
The slam of the door,
The shining rays
Breaking through;
This isn’t goodbye
Like they say in the movies,
Still I resent the silence
I return to
The cavernous void;
Heart chambers,
Heavy yet empty;
I forget I still live
As I listen to ghosts
Happy in their world,
Well aware that
Tomorrow shall never hurt them.
Where is the thunder
To drown the scream of the jet,
As they leave me stranded
In the island of my bed.
Yet I miss it
The gentle patter of a loved one
Echoing through the ocean
Of puddles and mud;
The slam of the door,
The shining rays
Breaking through;
This isn’t goodbye
Like they say in the movies,
Still I resent the silence
I return to
The cavernous void;
Heart chambers,
Heavy yet empty;
I forget I still live
As I listen to ghosts
Happy in their world,
Well aware that
Tomorrow shall never hurt them.
Where is the thunder
To drown the scream of the jet,
As they leave me stranded
In the island of my bed.
Vous,
